The New Forest Show was one of the most successful and our Exhibition was visited by an estimated 24,000 people. At one point we had a sample that indicated 1700/hr people entering the marquee.
It was also exceptional in the number of Trainee competitors, nearly double the number in 2010. Our judges found it difficult to mark and determine a winner because the standard is going up year on year. Interestingly, within the first three topping the poll in Children’s Choice voting they selected two of the first three judged by our Professional Judges. Trainees came from 7 different establishments, the furthest being from Cumbria University. This is a truly national event now.
We have decided to see if we can make the event self sustaining and have a plan to keep it going for twenty years. This will be a major task for the coming months.
